JOY

Often we hear the word "joy" as a synonym of "happiness". But are they the same thing?

While happiness is based on our circumstances, Joy is only accessible through a relationship with God.

While happiness comes and goes, joy is constant.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace

JESUS CHRIST

HEBREW TRANSLATION

[JESUS : THE LORD SAVES]

[CHRIST : THE ANOINTED ONE]

The world hated Jesus. They accused him and ultimately executed Him for claiming to be the son of God. He was killed by crucifixion by the people He came to save.

Upon the cross, He took responsibility for our sins. Everyone. From the beginning of time until now and all future sins. God the father had to turn His back on Jesus as He had been made imperfect by our sins. He died and went to hell for 3 days, before rising again, defeating death.

Following His resurrection, He was taken to heaven physically, living forever. His body has never been found.

His life fulfilled over 300 Old Testament prophecies predicting the coming of the saviour.

US

Mankind is sinful. It's in our nature. We do wrong to each other, to ourselves and to God.

HIM

Jesus is perfect. He lived a perfect life without committing a single sin.

HEAVEN

Heaven is perfect. God is just and cannot allow anything imperfect into heaven.

We all sin and therefore we are all imperfect and unable to enter heaven.

After rising from the dead and being taken to heaven, the Holy Spirit(the spirit of Jesus) was sent to earth for mankind to receive. When we ask Jesus to come into our life, we are filled with the Holy Spirit. We no longer live but Christ lives in us. When God looks at us, he no longer sees our sins, our imperfect record. Instead He sees Jesus's perfect record to allow us to enter heaven. This is why Jesus said "No one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and spirit." When we ask Jesus to come into our life, we are born of the spirit and filled with the joy of the spirit.

Jesus paid the price that we are responsible for. The innocent took the responsibility for the guilty. Even if it were only you, Jesus would have gone to the cross to save you.
